Die sukkulenten Sträucher wachsen normalerweise einstämmig, doch werzweigen sie sich zum Teil enorm, wenn die Wachstumsspitze verletzt wird (z.B. Ziegenfraß), was leider sehr häufig vorkommt. Die älteren Pflanzen halten der Verbiss rel. gut aus, doch werden die Jungpflanzen, die weich und saftig sind, von den Ziegenherden vernichtet. Damit sind leider mehrere Arten vom Aussterben bedroht! |
